Women
Advocacy Centre (WAC) is an Albanian non-profit organisation,
with its seat in Tirana, established in November 1997.
From 2001 the Centre has opened a branch in the town of
Shkodra.
WAC
functions as a centre of legal and psychosocial services
for abused or poor women. Such services are FREE.

WAC, during the period 1998-2003 has provided a direct
assistance to 1170 poor and abused women. Legal
counselling or editting of legal acts has been provided
to 563 of them, while 607 others have been represented
and assisted in judicial and administrative proceedings
up to the conclusion of their issues.

support to poor and/or abused women through psychological

Quarterly
journal “LAW – Equal Possibilities for Women”
(Publication of WAC, in Albanian and English).
First issue appeared in March 2001.
Till
December 2003 there came out 12 issues of the journal.
